The app started as a simple project for the Mobile Application Programming course at my university. Create an app that gets the weather, simple as that.
But what if it didn’t have to be simple?
What if it was something not only useful, but also engaging, personal, and fun? Blending weather forecasting with a smart, interactive chatbot with a cute appearance felt like the perfect way to reimagine how we interact with everyday apps.
How it started 🐣
It all began with a problem: weather forecasts are not always accurate.
Fixing this is not easy. Instead, what if you could get a more detailed and specific response, have more information to make better decisions yourself?
That how the idea of virtual assistant appeared.
But a typical faceless assistant is boring, isn’t it? Much easier to take any forecast, correct or not, from a cute character!
That’s how Iho came to be.
Her design went through multiple different phases, from sketching dynamic poses, imagining her character, to turnaround poses and outfits.
